Thrift?

May 4th, 2018 at 06:10 pm

First and foremost, has anyone heard from Thrift-o-rama? I wish I knew her real name but I don't. As much as I hate Facebook, I'm glad I have added a few people from here on there. Nice to be able to keep track of each other, especially if people (like me) stop posting for years.

My boss had a sinus infection that wouldn't go away for months and no doctor could figure it out. The similarities between her issues and my cat's health were something we commiserated about all winter. We now know that both of them had cancer. My boss has been breast cancer-free for several years but it metastasized to her skull. She had the spot removed yesterday and treatment plans will soon follow. It was not a simple surgery.

Superstition has me thinking bad things come in threes, and two of those three so far have been cancer in the head.

I was awake last night from 2am-4am thinking about all of this, missing my cat, crying. Heading into another weekend of being at home without her. At least the weather will be nice.

Aw I'm so sorry to hear about your cat 🙏🏾.

I haven't heard a thing of Thrift-o-rama, someone collected everyone's name and contact but I can't think of who. I hope she's on the list.

Cancer, I absolutely hate. My dad died from cancer as well as a good friend. I'll be praying for you colleague

Thrift has a Facebook page, and postd this recently:

    Cancer news:

Scan is back: Meds appear to have shrunk the tumor.

Good news will be scarce in the years to come, so we have to enjoy this little victory while it lasts.

I'm so sorry you're still feeling the loss of your cat. Would you consider getting a new one someday? That could really make you feel a lot better;not that you will ever forget this one, but it will ease the pain, I think.

I was the person who collected those emails I could of various people here. I just checked my list and unfortunately, she was not on it. I was only able to collect the emails of people who recently commented on one of my posts.

Glad to hear of Suzanne's good news about Thritftorama.

I just realized I may have Thrift's email address. I don't want to bother her too much but will drop a quick note to let her know we're all thinking of her.

Thank you for sharing info about Thrift! I wasn't aware there was a FB page. I'm glad the tumor is shrinking.

PS, right now I never want another pet. I will have to deal with the loss of my older cat soon since he is almost 14 and has kidney disease.

I remembered her book was being self-published. It was called Salt Creek Rising. I went to Amazon, and there is a book called Jess Rising (Maybe name changed), but Author's name is DM Guay. I hope that helps find Thriftorama
