a few photos

October 24th, 2007 at 04:15 pm

I'm back from our road trip. Texas was HOT and humid (surprise, surprise) but spending time with my aunts was wonderful.

My car? It's amazing. I love it. It's perfect. I really could not be happier with it.

The road trip itself was relatively painless. It gave SO and I plenty of time to discuss the future. He wants kids, I don't. Needless to say, I've had a lot on my mind lately.

Last weekend I went to a state park in Wisconsin and snapped some photos:

I'm spending most of my free time soaking up everything I can about photography. I looked into selling at arts and crafts sales, and then realized I'd need a tax ID number. Yowza. I'm not sure if I'm ready for that step yet.

Coming up with a name for my website/photography studio is harder than I thought! Most people use their First Name Last Name Photography, or something similar, but I've never really cared for my name. A coworker suggested something elegant, or something related to photography, but I'm stumped!

I ran across this

favorite cities survey yesterday. You can

compare two of the cities, so naturally I compared Minneapolis and Portland, OR. Portland came out on top in nearly everything. Hmmm!

    Beautiful pictures! Thanks for sharing.

Now there's an interesting twist. He wants kids, she doesn't. Well, maybe in a few more years. Big Grin

You know I never wanted kids either. LOL. BEST thing I ever did. But I wasn't necessarily staunchly opposed either. Just not sure if I would have had them except for falling madly in love with someone who REALLY wanted kids. I Said sure, but he could stay home with them. HE didn't think I Was serious. Wink
Actually it sounds like a pretty common divide these days. Less women choosing kids. It's best you know now. You both have time to think on it.

    Beautiful Pictures!!!

Well, you could always compromise and get a dog.

Applying for the federal tax ID is not a biggie. I think i did it online. But you may not want to make it official just yet. When i decided to make a real go of my freelance business, i came up with the name and since i wanted to create a 'brand' for myself and didn't want anyone else to use it, i decided to register it with the state and town. There's a registry as i recall where you canmake sure no one else has your name, and then pay a fee to protect it from others' use. Problem with that was, then the town started sending me annual assessments cus they wanted to tax my business, which basically consisted of 1) my computer and 2) my brain. So I later unregistered it becus i didn't like sharing my profits.

Hey Kashi! Glad to see you commenting around here again. Smile I've misplaced your email from when you commented on my Pink Lentil entry. I was supposed to email you for your red lentil recipe. I'd still love to get it -- still haven't been able to find pink lentils yet.
