My chiropractor thinks that I should have a CT scan done because of my headaches. The chiropractic treatment is not really helping them and she is concerned.
I have an irrational fear of that machine. I didn't even realize I had this fear until she told me I should have the test done.
I have no idea if my insurance covers CT scans, and I have to call to find out. Their website will tell me that the estimated cost for a CT scan without insurance is $350-400, but it won't tell me what my actual coverage is with insurance. I have to call a doctor to make an appointment as well.
Ugh...

I had PT done for a while to work on my neck, and it helped, but like most things it seemed like it needed to be an on-going thing and wasn't a 'cure'. I think I'm going to get them regardless, but there are ways to lessen their severity and frequency, and that's what I try to focus on. I wish I could go in for weekly massages to deal with the muscle tension that exacerbates things.
Have you tried feverfew, 5HTP, butterbur (sp?), vitex (chasteberry), riboflavin, magnesium, fish oil? Those are (ALL!) things that I take daily.

You might ask for a tranquilizer before you go in to have the procedure.
