what luck!

I went to pick up my car last night, expecting the checkbook blow....and it didn't come. The part they thought was bad was not, so they only replaced a gasket, to the tune of $65. My car is a LOT quieter now and I am so happy about the price!!! I think the healthy money tree is still helping me out! hehe. I'd better go home and give it a thorough watering.

This daily spending log thing is an eye-opener.

Dinner last night was grilled corn on the cob, grilled eggplant (not good..I wish I knew how to prepare it properly), and vegetarian chicken burgers. Yum.

Tonight I think I'm going to an art fair, tomorrow I'm baking bread and cleaning, and Sunday I'm taking a drive to meet old friends for lunch. Laid back weekend!

    A friend of mine always rubbed both sides of eggplant slices with olive oil and then rubbed them with lots of garlic (cut the garlic cloves in half). I think she may have also used some salt to season them with when she grilled. Maybe try Julie Russo's cookbook ... "Great Good Food."
