I've had better weekends

What a crappy weekend.

I got really sick on Friday night and it stuck all weekend. I am still feeling ill today and am contemplating going home early. We'll see if the meds kick in or not.

My sister's childhood pet is dying. My parents are going through the awful pain of watching it happen and my sister is devastated. Needless to say, we spent a lot of time crying and not much else. I feel helpless. I know exactly how she feels, since my cat passed away two years ago. I wish there was something I could do. My parents are in very rough shape.

We did go to the zoo yesterday as a distraction procedure for my sister. Here's a little lion yawn to represent Mondays across the globe:

    I am sorry to hear about your weekend. It is so painful to lose a beloved pet. Fortunately (if there is anything fortunate in this situation) is that you and your family can draw support from each other.

    I hope you get to feeling better soon.

    I'm sorry your weekend was so difficult. All of the pets I grew up with have now died, which is sad. But the whole family loves telling and hearing the stories about each one. I send you warm thoughts and best wishes.

    I'm so sorry to hear about your sister's pet and your weekend in general. Remember that heartbreak is the price we pay for love. I'm sitting here with my own 19 yr old cat, watching him sleep and wondering how much longer he has.

    I had to put down my Sarajane last year, it was so hard.
    But they are always a part of you, pets give so much love
    and we are blessed the time we have with them. I like
    your journals, came upon them by mistake, but you seem
    like such a down to earth nice person!

    I am crying too, for every pet I have ever lost. they still mean so much to me.
