sleeping in...ahhhh

November 21
$3.70 stamps

I got to sleep in today. No overtime on Tuesdays because of band practice tonight (it's nice that I can choose my overtime hours). I suppose I will go to band tonight, since I skipped last week....*sigh* So not looking forward to it.

I drove to work this morning, since I slept in so late (eep!). Oh well, the car needs to be driven. Unfortunately it smells like a gas station and has a whining belt somewhere in there. I need to take it in, and I have been putting it off for a while now. I should probably get the oil changed before the weekend, at the very least. I just don't want to hear that it needs 879 things fixed, to the tune of $8790.

November 22
$2 tea
$4 parking
$1.27 hot chocolate

Kashi, I'd get that gas smell looked at. Has it recently started happening ? does it smell more when the car is moving or idling ? Does it smell like raw gas ? Where would you guess the smell is coming from, engine compartment, rear of the car or near the gas cap ? It could be as simple as a bad gas cap to something as big as a leaky/rusted fuel tank. Have you noticed any drop in the gas mileage ? Goodluck, feel free to PM me if you need a second opinion on what your mechanic finds. Also ask your mechanic to guarantee the repair (not just the work) - meaning that what they diagnose must be the problem. Often times they'll throw parts at the problem costing you lots of money.

Funny, that always happens to me - they diagnose a problem but it's not the right fix, and I still end up having to pay for it. That might explain my aversion to repair shops.

It smells all the time, but the biggest fragrant bursts come after it's been sitting at a stop light and I accelerate again. It smells enough that my hair reeks of it when I get out of the car. I'm not sure that it's gas...it could be strong-smelling exhaust.

Thanks for the good luck vibes...do you know any good mechanics in Minneapolis? Wink I have yet to find an honest one.
